DICE Officer

Contract:            Permanent

Hours:                 37 hours per week

Salary:                 Hay 7 (£32,020 - £34,723) per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Avon Fire & Rescue Service as a Diversity, Inclusion, Cohesion, and Equality (DICE) Officer within our DICE Team. We’re looking for someone to develop policy, practice and projects that will promote and increase diversity within Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) and embed a culture of inclusion and cohesion across the organisation.   


The DICE Officer will work to build relationships with key communities across the service area to promote the role of AF&RS and support community safety through engagement and partnership working. You will be responsible for line managing the DICE Community Engagement Officer, providing supervision, motivation, and support. The DICE Officer will establish collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners, and sector colleagues to share best practice and ensure continual improvement.  


To be considered for this position it is essential that you have comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, together with a commitment to the principles of diversity, inclusion, and equality. You will need experience of working and building relationships with diverse communities or organisations, and with specialist organisations to support DICE work. The successful post holder must have strong general IT skills and an ability to work with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly using Excel to interpret and present data.


It is also essential that you hold a current driving licence or ability to arrange suitable alternative transport to travel to various work locations.
