An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Avon Fire & Rescue Service as a Fleet Systems Project Manager within the Service Delivery Support Directorate. We’re looking for someone to support the Head of Transport in the transition of legacy computer management systems to a single software solution that captures all Fleet management requirements and legislative compliance of all AF&RS assets, LGV, LCV, Car, marine applications and plant.
The postholder will support the Head of Transport in the development of the fleet management software system (Tranman9). This transition will align to fleet legislation, the requirements detailed within the Department for Transport (DFT), Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA), Driver and Vehicle Standard Agency (DVSA), the Transport Act 2000, and the associated Operators Licence obligations within, along with transport governance good practice. The approach will require the integration of legacy systems that are in use and the transition to the latest software without affecting ongoing workflow.
The Fleet Systems Project Manager will undertake the complete project management of the transition between the software systems and the engagement of multiple stakeholders.
You will work as a direct report to the Head of Transport and alongside key fleet functions, workshop management, fleet administration and technical service, to ensure system reviews do not adversely affect the wider organisation.
To be considered for this position it is essential that you have fleet management experience (through possession of a recognised relevant qualification such as CPC or CIT, and/or a demonstrable history of legislative fleet management and fleet operator legal responsibilities). You must be able to devise improved computerised monitoring and recording systems for the maintenance and repair of the Service's fleet. It is essential that you have a Technician qualification in motor vehicle engineering (eg C&G, IMI or BTec level 3), or equivalent technical qualification. You must also be an active member of a trade association eg; MSOE, MIRTE or IMI.
In return, we will offer you 25 days annual holiday (plus public holidays), enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme, and access to our Cycle to Work scheme.
